Chicken is one of the most popular types of meat and a simple way to make yummy chicken fry and a beginner can also prepare this recipe with step by step instructions.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 kg Chicken
  2. 3 onions, chopped in small size
  3. 2 green chillies, slit vertically 
  4. 4 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tsp chicken masala powder
  7. 5 tsp oil 
  8. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  9. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 2 tsp coriander powder
  11. 2 sprigs curry leaves
  12. ¼ cup coriander leaves

For garam masala:

  1. 4 cloves
  2. 3 cardamom
  3. 7 black pepper
  4. 3-inch cinnamon
  5. 1 small bay leaf
  6. 1 tsp black cumin seeds or shah jeera

Preparation of garam masala:

  1. Dry roast everything by adding one by one masala ingredients
  2. Grind them and make a fine powder (if possible use mortar to make powder)

Other preparation:

  • Wash the chicken with salt and turmeric before using it for cooking and remove it from the water with the help of a strainer

Preparation of chicken fry with step by step instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or a vessel
  2. Add onion to it, saute it until onion gets transparent
  3. Add Chicken to it, stir everything and cook for 10 minutes by covering the lid in high flame
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, curry leaves and green chillies mix everything slowly and cook for another 10 minutes or cook until water evaporates from the chicken in medium to low flame
  5. Add red chilli powder, salt and stir everything gently, cook for 10 minutes until raw smell goes out from the chilli powder
  6. If we want to soften the chicken add some water and cook for 5 minutes the water should also evaporate otherwise no need to add water
  7. Add garam masala, and chicken masala to it stir everything and cook the chicken until oil separates
  8. Add coriander powder mix everything slowly and cook for a minute
  9. Add coriander leaves and turn off the flame and close the lid for a while
  10. That's it chicken fry is ready to serve
